today is the day for ai pin.

this is going to be some thoughts with a sprinkle of optimism.

to start off, every legacy media and many who claim to be new media are missing out on what the future holds for humane and its first product, the ai pin.

I'm really glad everyone threw out their laptops when they got smartphones because it sure 'killed' the laptop

The narrative of a new product needing to 'kill' or 'replace' another product with similar functionality is tired. That's not how reality works. Laptops didn't kill

Capturing the moment without a screen, without worrying about getting the ‘perfect shot’, and staying present is my favorite thing about Ai Pin. (And stabilization makes it all watchable)

ok, one more thread on what the team at Humane is working on when it comes to video and video stabilization on ai pin - because it's just too good.

being present with your kids, but capturing the moment.
that's what ai pin is about. love this one so much.

the first batch of ai pins started to leave the factory this past monday. here’s the first pallet loaded onto the trucks. a big moment that's been in the making for quite some time.

this journey, filled with challenges, learning curves, and perseverance, wouldn't have been

So, Humane just released a 30-minute owners manual video and THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE ANNOUNCEMENT! Interest restored.

Stuff like notes/reminders and vision-based answers seem SUPER cool and polished.

Stuff your phone can do? Yes. But more quickly. vimeo.com/928045573

Josh Miller i totally get where you're coming from, and i share a lot of your sentiments. it’s much of the why we started humane back in 2018. we were adamant about developing ai hardware driven by a new kind ai operating system that seamlessly integrates with both devices and the cloud. it

New video from Humane is great! Genuinely looking forward to trying this product.

Watched w/ my kids and then they played 'Ai Pin' where one pretends to have a pin and ask questions and the other pretends to be the AI. Y'know, normal 2024 kid stuff. 😅

ai pin is screen-free, hands-free, and app-free.

the future of computing is less manual and more automatic.

it’s not only faster; it’s set to get even faster and more capable over time.

using it provides a level of presence and freedom unmatched by any other computer.

My key take away from this is not the latency but the experience Humane’s Ai Pin provided vs the phone.

Imran Chaudhri just asked the device a question and got back to his viewers.

No reaching for a phone, unlocking it, navigating to the right app.

Importantly: No Screen!
