Last month, we had the opportunity to teach career readiness to motivated young people in our community. The 10-week STEAM-To-Careers after school workshop highlighted Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry.

Black History Month Spotlight | Ida B. Wells (1862-1931): journalist, abolitionist and feminist who led an anti-lynching crusade in the United States in the 1890s. She went on to found and become integral in groups striving for justice.

Dr. Charles Richard Drew was a renowned black surgeon and medical researcher who pioneered methods for long-term storage of blood plasma. Called the "father of the blood bank," Dr. Drew is most notably known for organizing America's first large-scale blood bank.
