Congratulations to Assoc Prof Ruth Stewart Ruth Stewart on her appointment as National Rural Health Commissioner. Living in the Torres Strait and being one of the authors of the Collingrove Agreement, she has profound insight into what is required for rural and remote communities!

You will make an excellent President, Ayman. You listen to and understand rural communities, patients, clinicians, trainees and students. And governments realise that you live what you say. Good luck for the election!

Simple message. Clear advice. Time to listen to our Australian of the Year...and reduce our risk of hospitalisation from Covid at the same time. Sounds like a win-win to me. canberratimes.com.au/story/6827184/…

So sad to hear Harry has died. I remember catching him at his Harry Nespolon inner Sydney practice - he had a heart for his patients and for those who worked with him and brought life and laughter to us all. GPs, including rural generalists, are grieving losing a champion.

Murray Bridge now has a state if the art ED - what the community deserves and needs. Thanks to Minister for Health and Wellbeing Stephen Wade for delivering on his election promise today.

Dave Butler, Pete Rischbieth and Martin Altmann in the new ED facility. Having the right tools and facilities is critical to retaining great doctors in the bush.

The national AZ rollout began on Ngarrindjeri land on Friday. Some asked Why Murray Bridge? I say - why not! Planning, passion and partnerships made it happen - hallmarks of rural health!

Thank you to the Townsville hospital specialists who recognise the terrible injury inflicted upon trust in the health system. #Leadership The degradation of General Practice. The jewel in the crown of any health system, without which ALL healthcare is harmed. Mark Butler MP

The world of rural health lost a legend today with the passing of Dr Phil Tideman Philip Tideman Phil conceived and led the transformative Integrated Cardiac Network which now means the outcomes for patients with a STEMI in rural SA are as good as for those living in the city. Vale
