Crime and the perception of crime: John Burn-Murdoch via Stephen Bush ft.com/content/962328…

This in @Guardian just now is seriously scandalous. There is a stench of corruption about the procurement of PPE during the COVID pandemic. Many questions about the efficacy of Government procurement policies - £billions could be saved if handled better theguardian.com/politics/2025/…

Excellent article by Religion, Theology, and Peace Studies at TCD alumnus, Abie Philbin Bowman: ‘Whether we’re moving towards a united Ireland or a shared island, we need to face questions about identity’

Like everything John Burn-Murdoch makes, this chart is amazing. The sharp decline in conscientiousness and rise in neuroticism among young people is astonishing. But also of note: literally every age group has gotten less extroverted in the age of the smartphone

Love this post by John Burn-Murdoch. My latest substack (co-authored with Patrick Flynn) covers some aspects of neuroticism (an amazing coincidence) and its political associations. But the post is mainly about the role that agency plays in politics today
