SJP warns of job cuts bit.ly/4fWL8gv but “The 4,800 self-employed financial advisers who sell SJP products to retail investors will not be affected” NB They are not financial advisers but sales people who only sell the firm’s own often poorly performing products!

First email of 2025 - FCA wanting info. First phonecall of 2025. 'Chris my local energy adviser' spam call. A strong start then.... :)

And the award for Provider's Worst Service Level award goes to Aviva for investment bond assignments - a cool 100 working days service standard.... utterly bonkers!

The salary sacrifice cap is a regressive tax. High earners only get 2% NI savings on Sal Sac whilst basic rate workers save 8% NI - the big earners can still pay into a pension (personally) & get 45% income tax relief so it's employers (15% NI) & basic rate workers hit most?

Further thought on the budget. The freezing of thresholds for student loan repayments means graduate workers are hit twice as hard. More income tax & more student loan repayments for them. Shown to raise billions more in tax.
