Corn silks are ~90% H2O and can grow up to 1.5” a day. During drought conditions silk elongation slows but tassel growth doesn’t. This can lead to plants failing to pollinate. Some hybrids silk before the tassel emerges, giving a better chance of pollinating under drought stress

Be on the lookout for southern rust. Found this in northern Boone county this morning. Taking samples to Purdue for confirmation. Cooler temps this week will slow it down, but if we get into the 90’s watch out!!

America’s enemies are on the march. They are smart, they are brutal, and they will stop at nothing to harm our country.   Arkansas is the first state in the country to fight back and kick a Chinese-owned company off our farmland.
