Neither Medicare4All, free tuition at state colleges and universities, cancellation of college loan debt nor the Green New Deal are radical propositions. They are simply a realignment of public policy with an effort to help people thrive. What’s radical is the opposition to them.
Please join me and Bernie Sanders in telling Mitch McConnell that we’re not going to have a defense bill until we vote on $2000 checks for the American people.
Amazon made $10.8 billion in profits, didn't pay a dime in federal taxes, and got a $129 million check from the IRS—courtesy of Mitch McConnell and the Republican Senate. But as our people suffer, a $2,000 check to the working class is "socialism for the rich"? Give me a break.
Tomorrow progressives will say “Look at all the power we have & all the wonderful things we can do for people now!” Then corporatist Dems will whine “Yeah but we didn’t get a mandate & there’s another election in 2 years so we better be really careful & go slow.” Do not let them!
Let’s be very clear. The officials urging for no serious consequences after Wednesday’s attack on our country - including the impeachment, removal, expulsion, and/or indictment of officials who aided, abetted, or incited the attack - are opening the door for it to happen again.
