Delighted that first #WomensNetwork event at Law Society of Northern Ireland has kicked off successfully with a full house of delegates and an interesting line up of speakers. Today we are discussing how female solicitors can overcome challenges throughout a career into legal leadership. 👩‍⚖️ ⚖️

This was never abt keeping women and children safe. They couldn't care less if there is women and children in these houses. This was about racists in Ballymena who wanted an opportunity & used that poor girls trauma for their own racist agenda. I feel sick at what I am seeing.

The problem isn't Romanians, or foreigners, or people from Ballymena. It's men. Men attacking women and girls in a scandalously frequent rate. Their nationality is irrelevant.

Thankfully, there was no violent mob response to the past convictions of 2 former Ballymena councillors for sex crimes. Doors weren't kicked in, windows smashed or cars burnt. Yet now thugs are pursuing the collective punishment of those with a dark skin. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/opinion/column…
