Honored to be with our nation's Lt. Governors at the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) Annual Meeting in #Chicago. Thanks to Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton for hosting! I'm excited to learn more about innovative ways LGs are working to improve the lives of their state's residents.
Very proud to hear Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg talk about #Iowa's first in the nation paraeducator registered apprenticeship program at the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA). Western Governors U. is proud to be partnering with the state to give nearly 150 Iowans a path to teacher licensure. bit.ly/3v7kA6S
25 years ago, 19 governors signed an MOU in #Omaha that established Western Governors U. as a nonprofit, #online, competency-based university designed to serve working adults. Today, 300k+ Nebraskans have some college, but no degree. This is untapped human potential that Western Governors U. was built to serve.
Honored to join @GovRicketts today to celebrate this new partnership. Western Governors U. is looking forward to working with #Nebraska to create even more pathways to opportunity for their residents.
Great to see my friend Nick Frentz this morning! Thanks for your support of our schools and teachers Senator! #MAPSready
WGU would not have succeeded or scaled to serve the number of students we have if we could not share information about how Western Governors U. is working—how it's delivering value to the individual—and how it's reshaping #highered. Grateful to partner with Gallup each year to stay accountable.
To truly transform #highered, we must dispel this idea that who you admit is more important than expanding access to every human. Opportunity only grows when you have more people participating in it! @ChrisBurtedu covers this and more for University Business: bit.ly/3VdGbpU
Great to see two of my favorite Lieutenant Governors Adam Gregg and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan/Peggy Flanagan National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA). Great perspective on state/local relationships.
In closing a loophole that could enable enterprising students to earn their degrees fully online, the University of California has propagated the perception that college is for the privileged. My latest in Inside Higher Ed: bit.ly/41Pjg7x #onlinelearning
Now more than ever, we need policies that enable promising solutions for closing the #skillsgap—not undermine them. Great conversation with David Barnes (IBM), Michael Hansen (Cengage), & jane oates (WorkingNation). #onlinelearning #SXSWEDU
Great to hear from Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II at The Council of State Governments Midwest meeting in Detroit. Inspiring message on the great work going on in Michigan. National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA)
Happy to support the work of our nation's Lieutenant Governors! Looking forward to talking policy over a Pronto Pup at the Iowa State Fair. Thanks to Lt. Gov. Chris Cournoyer Adam Gregg for hosting!
Great to be with Lt. Governors from across the country at the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) meeting in Des Moines. Thanks to Lt. Gov. Chris Cournoyer Adam Gregg for hosting a great meeting. Western Governors U. is privileged to sponsor this forum filled with important discussion and learning on key state issues.
