Are you an ecologist working with statistical models? this paper might be useful. Now formally published in an Methods in Ecology and Evolution issue, with many outsatnding colleagues including CREEMinal Alison Johnston with Gordana Popovic responsible for herding the cats

Can machine learning help us understand freshwater soundscapes?
My chat with the lovely Scarlett Buckley via Earth Island Journal on how we are on the edge of harnessing the combined power of large datasets derived from acoustic monitoring and machine learning techniques.
New paper alert! Robustly estimating the demographic contribution of immigration: Simulation, sensitivity analysis and seals. SEEC members Murray and Chris Oosthuizen - massive congrats! Elephants seals - Marion island. besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/13…

After a paperwork obstacle course, I am officially on my first day working Instituto Pirenaico de Ecología! With Gurutzeta Guillera, we'll be using occupancy models to investigate dynamics in bird distributions. Sad to have SEEC further away, but at the same time super happy to start this new venture.
Researchers at Cornell University lab have developed a new way to track bird populations. 🐦🔎
By using double machine learning, they have clearer insights to 500+ species.
