One of my biggest flaws is that I am very impatient and I look to the next thing way too fast. I walk fast. I move fast. I go go go go. So I adopted a “prayer” from Fr. Joseph Krupp “Lord, help me be where my shoes are.” Patience is achieved by practicing patience.

Ecumenical hospitality requires a willingness to listen to other Christians, paying attention to their personal stories of faith and to the history of their community.

I just got off call w/ M.D. Anderson CEO/MD Peter Pisters for Houston Religious Leaders. They believe that the mortality rate for Cancer patients w/the COVID-19 virus is 50%. I Pastor many cancer patients. Please take every possible precaution for this vulnerable population.

If you have an Apple Watch, maybe you have shared this experience. Every time my watch tells me to breathe, I cannot help but think of George Floyd. My watch has become regular reminder to pray for his family and my brothers and sisters of color in all places. #icantbreathe

Heartache, loss, trauma, and the agonizing pain that comes through hard endings do not have the power the strip away who you are. In fact - the healing that comes on the other side of these losses offers us all the opportunity to become even more who we are meant to be.

This kind of heartache actually invites us to dream bigger and better than we ever imagined. The beauty of the RESURRECTION is that the death of one thing is an invitation to a new life. Don’t try to skip the grief, but know that grieving will lead to TRUE HOPE. Thanks be to GOD!
