OTD in Blue Bombers History July 23, 2011 Terrence Jeffers-Harris helps rally team to 33-24 win over Argonauts with 5 receptions for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns. TJH was later released prior to East Final v Ti-Cats and they claimed him to get inside information but it didn’t help

OTD in Blue Bombers History July 20, 2006 and Milt Stegall and Kevin Glenn prove that in the CFL ‘No Lead is Safe’ Bombers down 3 to Eskimos with the ball on their own 10 Yd line. Final play of the game Glenn and Stegall play pitch and catch for 100 Yd TD and 25-22 victory

OTD in Manitoba Golf History July 16, 1989. The Manitoba Open is decided in 3 way playoff between PGA tour vet Dave Barr, Steve Chapman and Stuart Hendley. The 24 year old Texan went for the green at the short par 4 at Southwood and then sank the 40 foot eagle putt for victory

OTD in Blue Bombers History July 17, 2002 and it’s payback time for Blue and Gold v Renegades. A week earlier they stumbled in 1 point loss to Ottawa but with rookie OC Paul LaPolice calling the plays QB Khari Jones passes for 5 TD’s for second time in 4 games in 55-7 blowout win

OTD in Blue Bombers History July 29, 1996. Reggie Slack comes off bench to replace Kent Austin with 3:33 left and Stamps up 13. With 1:23 to play it was Slack to Stegall for TD. :36 left when Stamps conceded safety. 20 seconds later it’s Slack to Guliford TD as Bombers win 38-36

Not sure how to feel bout Bombers 40-31 win over Argos. D and special teams accounted for 3 of 4 TD’s while offence (questionable play calls) almost gave game away. Strevler Int 3 times but had good moments. Trey Vaval with K/Off and punt return TD’s. Jefferson 5 knockdowns

OTD in Blue Bombers History August 2, 1978 third game of season and Bombers looking for first win. They use the BIG Play to beat Roughriders. First with Richard Crump on 74 yard touchdown and then a 90 yard pitch and catch touchdown from Dieter Brock to Mike Holmes in 23-13 win

OTD in Jets History. A Happy Birthday shout out to former Jet Bengt Lundholm who is 70 today. Never drafted, Lundholm, then 25, was signed by GM John Ferguson in June of 1981. Lundholm played nearly 300 games with the Jets. Mostly on a line with Thomas Steen and Doug Smail

OTD in Blue Bombers History Aug 5, 2011 the undefeated Eskimos finally meet their match. Buck Pierce runs for one touchdown and passes for two more while the defence intercepts Ricky Ray three times in their 28-16 victory. The win was Bombers third straight.

OTD in Blue Bombers History Aug 6, 1988. With Tom Clements retired and Willard Reaves in the NFL the Bombers searched for new QB and RB. Found them for this game v BC Lions as Tom Muecke passed for 2 touchdowns and Walter Bender ran for 2 others in Blue and Gold’s 38-21 victory
