"Lame." She frowned at him before puffing up her cheeks with an exasperated sigh. "Fine. If you can get into the Bonejackal hideout and make it out alive with the thumb drive I'm after, that money's yours."

"Never heard of you. Never, ever. Like, not at all. You might be asking the wrong person, though." She tossed him a square-shaped device that looked vaguely similar to a palm pilot back on Earth. "So — 𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘳𝘰. You any good with a gun?"

"Ten grand." She patted his chest with a gloved hand, as if to dissuade him from peeping the contents of the sought-after stick whenever it fell into his possession. "Can't say, I'm afraid. It's classified information."

"Let's just say it's gonna cause a really big headache if it falls into a certain someone's hands." She pushed a PDA-looking brick into his right hand and closed his fingers around it. "Follow this road south and take a right at the fork."
