Watching this was very helpful. His condition is more challenging than mine, but I loved his take on living in a new body and refusing to dwell in anger and negativity.

My 15-year-old daughter got her ears pierced in a stairwell today because I didn't realize the piercing salon was on the second floor (I'm in a powerchair). The piercing tech came downstairs for the procedure. Turn into a funny story, and a very memorable! #DisabilityTwitter

I can't decide if making the disabled symbol into earrings is a good idea or not. I thought my power chair bit the dust yesterday. Not having it around put things in perspective for me, and made me love it that much more! Mobility aides FTW #thisisms #MultipleSclerosis

Well, my powerchair is having problems again! I can stand and shuffle my feet around, but staying close to the bathroom! Hoping to borrow a scooter from a neighbor, and enlisting help for school pickups. 💀

The cycle of inaccessibility

This stool was helpful after a slow fall and being stuck on the floor. I was feeling too weak to hoist my butt to the first step, but it was easier for my husband to slowly hoist me on these steps, and then to standing.

The difference between saying "I can't imagine" vs "I can only imagine". The former lacks empathy and makes a person feel more isolated, where the latter is much more comforting.

Exercise has been tricky. Even if I keep it easy with water walking in the pool, later in the day stuff gets so hard! Picking the kids, making dinner is killer. How do you deal with exercise and energy expenditure? Today my exercise was cleaning and making dinner before 2pm
