Fall Fest! 🎃 We had a great turnout of 22% of the grad students, as well as some faculty, post-docs, and friends/family! This event helped us raise money for the undergrad field camp scholarships, and it gave us time to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and eat delicious food. 🍂

However, the best pumpkin by far was Finn Lindsey-Barnes, who we didn't let compete because there was no way anyone else would win against him. Thanks to all for coming out!

Yesterday I successfully defended my m.s. thesis on the environmental origins of Cambrian rhynchonelliform brachiopods! Excited to stay on at PSU for my PhD and work more on the Cambrian with Mark Patzkowsky and Kim Lau.

Just bumping this thread again because this method is potentially transformative for paleontology. We can use the physics of heat transfer to understand both paleobiology and paleoclimatology.
