Hi so I finished my first day of residency today. That’s all.

My first ever white coat and my first ever clinical role, back when I was a Rehab Aide at BWH for my co-op 7 years ago— crazy how some things go full circle!

Is it embarrassing that I am PUMPED about leaving the hospital before 7:30 PM ????

My friend who’s currently at RWJMS just sent this to me— my heart is full knowing the interest group I founded is still alive and well !!! 🥰🌱

Every time I get clinical feedback, I get comments on my warm/soothing/calm voice and demeanor… if only they knew what was actually going on in my brain 😳🤪

I went from having 0 experience with my patients dying all through med school… to have nearly 15 die just since September. It’s a lot for anyone, especially a still new-ish intern. Would really welcome any words/books/videos that helped you process these tough times 😔

The brand new HUP Pavilion Hospital has a feature that when you walk into a patient room, your badge photo and name pops up on the TV… and no patient recognizes me since I look VERY different as my real life tired self 😳😳😳

Yes I repeat the same joke to all my patients when I am cross covering my co-interns list and say “we decided to be nice and give Dr. ____ the weekend off” and yes they laugh and yes it’s corny but no I won’t stop

I kid you not. I do not want to talk about what it’s like being a doctor after I leave the hospital. Please let’s just talk about plants and shit after I clock out bro. PLEASE.

Taking Step 3 in less than a week and I can’t wait to wave buh-bye to the boardsssssssss (well, for 3 years at least lol)

Just learned that for #Match2024, the #ERAS application got rid of the Hobbies section, and applicants were told to add it as an additional experience and some were told to use words like “enthusiast” or “fan”. This is important info for the application reviewers!!! 🚨🚨🚨
