I never understood why some people choose medicine even though they hate it? From the time I was a student, I’ve always come across people (students and docs alike) who literally loath coming into work.

Going to sleep a student, waking up a “matched” doctor 🤞🏾

I actually kinda worry about the soap ppl. EM is brutal w/ high burn/depression rates for those who wanted to match the specialty. Post-Covid with 1/6 spots filled by those who didn’t initially desire it I fear will lead to skyrocketing burnout/depression and attrition.

Officially halfway through maternity leave (6wks). How do women return to work at this point or even earlier??? My body is still healing. Showers are rare, meals eaten cold, sleep not happening. What we do to postpartum women in the US is insane & inhumane.
