Today, the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on the Prevention of Genocide, Alice Wairimu Nderitu, along with Mr. Serge Brammertz, the Chief Prosecutor of the IRMC, paid tribute to the UN staff who were killed during the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi at our headquarters.

This evening, Alice Wairimu Nderitu, Under Secretary General and Special Adviser to United Nations Secretary General on the Prevention of Genocide arrived in #Kigali to participate in the 30th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Today, UN Rwanda presented to NGOGA JULIUS, a journalist from Radio Ishingiro 107.5 FM, the prize for producing the best story of the year at the 2023 Development Journalism Awards (DJA) organized by Rwanda Gov Board in partnership with Rwanda Journalists Association - ARJ.
Welcoming participants, the Chairperson of the Gender Theme Group Madam Jennet Kem thanked the UN Family for organizing this event to celebrate women’s determination and resilience & recognized the commendable role of the government of Rwanda in creating an enabling environment.
