OWED commemorates International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women 2025 under the theme: UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls We raise our voices for every woman and girl whose safety, dignity, and confidence have been threatened online.

Tuesday, November 25, 2025, OWED joins MINPROFF), fellow CSOs, and International Organizations to officially launch the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) under the theme: "UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls"

🟧 Day 3 of 16 Days of Activism Today, on Day 3, we remind our communities that ending Gender-Based Violence is not an event — it is a continuous commitment. OWED stands strong in this movement, amplifying voices and raising awareness on gender based violence.

Day 4 Cyberbullying is not “just words.” It is harassment, humiliation, threats, and cruelty carried out through a screen — yet it cuts as deeply as any physical wound. No one deserves to be mocked, attacked, or shamed online.

OWED Takes the Fight Against Online Violence to Bui Division As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, OWED carried out a powerful sensitization session on the different types of online violence in a secondary school in Bui Division.

Day 6 OWED continuous Sensitization in Kumbo on digital gender based violence to students of St. Michael's Formation Center, thanks to funding from Alliance Française Bamenda . No one deserves to be bullied, threatened, mocked, or intimidated online.

❤️ World AIDS Day 2025 Today, we stand united under the banner of hope, solidarity, and urgent action to overcome disruption and renew our commitment to ending HIV/AIDS — because behind every statistic is a human life, a story, a family, a future.

Day 8 OWED organized a powerful 16 Days Activism panel discussion on HIV, online stigma, and mental health , a space where truth met courage, and silence met its end. Our panel brought together voices that matter: Online Safety Expert , HIV, GBV, and Mental Health Experts.

Day 9 Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025 under the theme “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress". At OWED, we believe social progress is only real when no one is left behind.

Day 10 A Focus Group Discussion was held in Kumbo, bringing together teachers who witness the reality our children face every day. They discussed real, practical ways to combat GBV in Kumbo — from strengthening school-based reporting systems to improving community vigilance.

Day 11 With support from Alliance Française Bamenda , OWED took the message of safety, dignity, and protection to the heart of the community — the church. During a powerful sensitization session, community members were educated on both online and offline form s of GBV

Day 12 🕯️ Candlelight for Hope 🕯️ In continuation of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, OWED proudly joined a candlelight event organized by COMAGEND to honor survivors, remember lives lost to violence, and stand united against all forms of abuse.

Day 13 OWED in partnership with UNFPA Cameroon and other committed organizations, joined the global commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. We engaged and young people through a series of empowering activities during the youth Jamboree.

Day 14– Celebrating Excellence! 🧡 OWED won the award for outstanding public speaking group during the Youth Jamboree commemorating the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, organized in partnership with and other dedicated partners.

Day 15 On Sunday 7th December 2025, we joined forces with Doctors of the World Switzerland to carry out a powerful sensitization session with the Wimbum community in Bamenda.

🧡 Day 16 As we close the 16 Days of Activism on Human Rights Day, we are reminded that freedom from gender-based violence is a basic human right and an everyday essential. Let’s keep speaking out, supporting survivors, and building safe communities — offline and online.

Our doors are officially open. A heartfelt thank you to our staff, partners, donors, beneficiaries and volunteers for making 2025 a success. We officially reopened today, 13 Jan 2026, with renewed energy, stronger strategies, and a deeper commitment to serving our communities.
