Earlier today, I had to take off my jewelry because the lawnmower was too loud outside

I had a totally autistic memory- My mom’s friend was babysitting me & had a kid around my age, but they owned a vending service & had arcade games in their garage. They had to come get me after a few hours because their daughter was upset that I was playing pac-man & not w/her.

Amber from The Challenge found out she is autistic. She seems so cool; I could never understand why the rest of the cast seems to hate her- guess that answers my questions. & Bananas says- we accept you. Hahaha. If that were true, she wouldn’t have to seek out others like her.

I’m a 48 year old recently realized autistic person and my mom made me have an #ActuallyAutistic meltdown today. And I believe she did it on purpose.

I’m going to guess our time on this app is short- I’ll miss this space and you guys. The support (although from afar) has been awesome. I’ve learned soooo much and just wanted to thank everyone for their time and care. #ActuallyAutistic

On of my biggest #ActuallyAutistic sensory issues was sanitary pads. I could only use Always Ultra Thins with wings- the slender ones (pink pack). I had tried others and they were a nightmare. And like the squeezing of bras isn’t bad enough…

Here’s what I’d like- Sitting at dinner, someone says: “what you thinking about?” Me: “how to keep kayaks from flipping over & drowning the kayaker?” Person: “ohhh yeah, how about…” Then we just have a brainstorming session. This is my dream for every convo. #ActuallyAutistic

I had to learn the “in pain” face and start using it to get people to believe I was in pain (and this was in my 30’s). That is the most ridiculous statement I’ve ever had to make. #ActuallyAutistic Why do we even use words if they are meaningless to most of the population.

#AskingAutistics Do any others have an issue with their personal clocks losing time? My alarm clock and my car both lose time even after I bought a new alarm clock. No other clocks seem to have an issue.

Every time I’ve been friends w/a guy, everyone in the surrounding social situation (school, work, etc) have assumed that I was sleeping with them. (I was in a long-term relationship/married) 1. Eww. 2. Why? What is wrong with these people? Is that literally all they think about?

I think I figured something out- in my head, my prepared speech, is smooth- “I didn’t know if she forgot about me [laugh]”. But comes out of my mouth “I did ‘n kn-ow if sh-e fer-got about meee or wat”[uhh]”. This I think is my biggest communication problem. #ActuallyAutistic

I had kind of an epiphany today- our language in the next 20 years will change to something like- Oh, are you an ADHD prominent neurodivergent or an Autism prominent neurodivergent. I’m on to something.
