Reports of methane detections at Mars have captivated scientists and non-scientists alike. Why do some NASA Mars instruments detect the gas while others don’t? Scientists are closer to explaining the Mars methane mystery: go.nasa.gov/2UhQM86

I was lucky enough to get this Skywatcher 150p dobsonian telescope to use with the students I work with 😍 still not had many opportunities to get used to it but I’m very impressed so far. #Skywatcher #Telescope #Astrophotography #astronomy #space #Science #physics #astrophysics

Anyone looking for a first telescope I would highly recommend a skywatcher heritage 130p and upgraded eyepiece or two. Here are images using the standard 25mm, upgraded 9mm and 5mm for comparison. Using an iPhone 8 to give you an idea of what you can see on a budget. #astronomy

Light on at Jupiter! Anyone home? This bright impact flash was spotted yesterday on the giant planet by astronomer José Luis Pereira. Not a lot of info on the impacting object yet but its likely to be large and/or fast! Thanks Jupiter for taking the hit☄️ #PlanetaryDefence
