This trash take will ruin people's lives. Do not listen to anything a pastor says if he says stuff like this. He can't be trusted to care for or lead anyone. This just shows he is willing to say things authoritatively that he has no idea about. Dangerous and irresponsible.

I'm struggling with words to adequately condemn this reaction to Owen's comment. One cannot love one's wife and children and insult someone who says they are not 'birthing machines' and 'widgets', the insults imply these men see their families as birthing machines and widgets.

One of the quickest ways to enable abusers is to discredit victims because they are 'being emotional.' Of course they are emotional. They have been abused.

It takes a great deal of courage that doesn't come easy to approach someone in a position of power like that. Very few people take that lightly or don't count the costs.

It's never a 'he says, she says' situation when it involves one party in a position of authority. Power gives the person in authority a platform, a megaphone, and a chorus of people giving him/her the benefit of the doubt.

Mary DeMuth I've found when you suffer quietly, many are ok with that. When you decide to say enough, that makes a situation uncomfortable, exposes some unpleasant things folks don't want to face, requires hard changes. So there needs to be another explanation... namely, that you're wrong.

Whenever you see a lead pastor begin to undermine the competency of other ministers in a church, that's a massive red flag that you should be aware of. Time and time again. I've seen this happen, and every time it happens it's a sign of great unhealth.

There are leaders who cannot deal with pushback or criticism or blame. These same people will also often masquerade as trauma informed, bringing awareness to issues. They will shut any pushback down - just providing more evidence to us that we are truly in a Leadership Crisis 💔

It is when you're powerless that your faith is most clearly revealed. The powerful have little need for faith. That's why Jesus said it is far more difficult for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.
