Our team has been engaged in drone image collection in 3 slums across Freetown as part of our Mwalai Micro grant and Know Your City Initiative. Thanks to Pete Masters Ivan Gayton and the satan for their support.

The excitement has been overwhelming. Our team through the Sierra Leone Open Mapping Initiative won the first Urban Heat Hackathon that was organized by the Freetown City Council. Our idea to use GIS and RS techniques to address urban heat within informal settlements.

Our team has been actively mapping Freetown using drones. We are quite excited to see the final product of this initiative.
