This thread by Tom Hicks about his concerns with DW’s teaching on justification is very helpful, especially considering Tom Hicks’ knowledge concerning the doctrine. Thank you for your thoughtful response!

"The law and the gospel are two opposite paths to a righteous standing before God: a perfect record of personal obedience, or a perfect record of imputed obedience." Renihan, Samuel. The Mystery of Christ, His Covenant, and His Kingdom (p. 26). Founders Press. Kindle Edition.

We are not justified by the quality of our faith (faithful, obedient, joyful), but by the object of our faith—Christ alone. Faith as an instrument simply receives the gift of justification, solely on the basis of the merits of Christ; it offers nothing to God in exchange of it.

Reading this book by Petty France has made me reconsider so many of my assumptions about where Christ’s soul went in between his death and resurrection. What a fascinating read! a.co/2S1n5c2

This is great! I am so glad that Grace Community Church is taking an orthodox stand in the Trinity debate. gracechurch.org/sermons/20904

This is such a helpful article, especially for those trying to understand what the real problem is with Wilson’s view on faith as it relates to justification. The gospel truly is at stake. thelondonlyceum.com/on-justificati…
