It’s my first time in Addis Ababa, despite transiting through Bole Airport many times. I am so impressed with the capital city of Ethiopia. 🇪🇹 It is now the 5th largest economy in Africa. They just overtook Morocco and have Nigeria in sight. Good leadership matters.

The world has a tendency to overlook Africa's contributions to science, engineering, and technology. Africa’s contributions are undervalued cos they do not align with modern definitions of technological progress. We want to change that narrative: ongolo.com/2025/01/26/afr…

Africa is being pressured by the developed world & financial institutions to leapfrog to clean energy. This is despite the fact that developed countries continue to import oil, natural gas & coal from Africa. It is a case of do as I say not as I do. ongolo.com/2025/02/03/afr…

Africa has many problems that we struggle to fix by ourselves. The education system teaches outdated theories instead of training students to solve problems. That’s what Inteli, the Brazilian university founded by two billionaires, does well. ongolo.com/2025/02/23/how…

Anyone who attended #AFCON2023 in Côte d’Ivoire appreciates what a big deal AFCON is. Africa has 1.4 billion people. Anything we do is big by default. We should not tolerate any disrespect. #AFCON

The question is no longer “Is AFCON a major tournament?” The real question is: how big can we make AFCON? The article explores ways Africa’s biggest sporting event can become a cultural and commercial powerhouse. ongolo.com/2025/02/26/fro…

A permanent June-July slot for Afcon is difficult 1. June-July is now congested except for 2027 & 2028. 2025 is for the FIFA Club World Cup. 2026 is for the FIFA World Cup. Likewise in 2029 & 2030 2. Some African countries have terrible weather conditions June-July.
