Location decisions are moral choices, about the climate, about equity, and about civilization. What consequential location decisions is your government (or the CEO of your employer or vendor) making right now? 14/14

Fifteen percent of Vancouver housing is non market housing. Predominantly co-ops (shown in map) and predominantly built between 1974 and 1990. Neo liberal trends brought that to a halt in the 1990s. If we had continued to build non market at that rate the proportion would now be

Vancouver City Council literally just voted to take money earmarked for SOCIAL HOUSING and just hand it to private real estate developers... for no reason except to make the rich richer. Like, respectfully... what the fuck, Mike Klassen éŗ„嘉äæ” šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦? vancouversun.com/opinion/column…

Why does TransLink BC make you pay off your negative balance before adding more to your card? It’s particularly annoying because the low balance warning doesn’t necessarily come up when you’re going to be returning via Skytrain. An extra transaction for $0.55 is silly & inefficient

After 10 years of this colourful mural welcoming folks into Storm, we have been notified by the city that it is violating bylaws and must be removed. Come down to Storm over the next month to take one more photo with pals or selfie with this iconic part of our brewery. #eastvan

BREAKING: The UN today voted 120-14 to halt the Israel-Hamas fighting. Huge blow to the Netanyahu government and a recognition by the world that the indiscriminate bombing of civilians violates international law. Keep pushing. They hear you.ā¤µļø apnews.com/article/un-res…

Those arguing that Remembrance Day is not the time to be protesting and pushing for peace don’t understand the history of the Great War and politics of war commemoration. As a Canadian historian, here’s a book I’m reading with my students right now that I recommend folks pick up.

This is performative, no one who needs shelter is reading a city councillor’s social media - they’re too busy trying to survive in a city that doesn’t care about them. What happened at Oppenheimer Park yesterday was inhumane, stop destroying + start leading with love. #vanpoli
