“That makes you seem little. What did my daughter call you?” He took a drag. “Twetus?”

“Is there a problem with that?” He said slyly, taking another drag.

“Want me to get you a drink?”

“She’s a grown woman. She can do whatever the hell she wants.”

“I was thinking more of a hard drink. I’ll get you some.” He went to a coffee machine.

“Understandable, sometimes alcohol just make things worse.” He walked back to him and handed the warm mug. “Yuri, Yuri Avilov. Brandy, Da?”

He was about to tap the end of his cigarette, but it fell to the ground as he stared at him, dumbfounded. “What?” He spat out.

“You can call me Yuri or Czar. Whichever works best.” He did a small and quick curtesy smile. “Well, I never thought I’d agree with an American.” He said jokingly, but a steep seriousness in his voice. He was bad with humor.

“Oh? Interesting. I lived in Moscow for most of my life but when I married I moved to a small village in Finland with my wife.” He smiled slightly, fading quickly. “I’m only Russian, nothing interesting.” Another joke.

“My daughter and I aren’t ‘usual’.”

“Try only having her to give a damn about you when you were falsely accused of some bullshit charge and gets thrown into a prison camp in the middle of Siberia.” He said nonchalantly, staring at him.

“Not me or Dominika, the Soviet government damn near killed me when they found out my wife was a traitor.” He pointed to his eyepatch, scratching it gently. “When I wouldn’t break, they tried torture. The man’s knife broke, and he took the shard and rammed it into my skull.”
