Look up tonight for the first Full Moon of the year. It's traditionally known as the Wolf Moon, due to the sound of hungry wolves howling at it. When the Moon is fully illuminated a wealth of features are visible on its surface, including the dark grey ‘seas’. Image - D Gibson.

Listen to Jason Arthur from ARCEN describe how our building 'almost floats above the peat'. When better to be up for than during International Dark Sky Week?

Over the next week, visit our Dark Sky Park to take part in - a cosmic census of our view of the stars, held by CPRE The countryside charity

The lack of light pollution where we are means the night sky is at its darkest – and at its best to really see the stars. 🌟☄️🪐

Unfortunately, the Solar Walk from Davagh Forest to Beaghmore Stone Circles has been temporarily closed due to flash flooding from the recent snow melt and rainfall. We are assessing the impact on the boardwalk and will advise on reopening when it is safe to do so.
