Great opportunity to talk at length with Dr. Anthony Fauci along with my Tulane Med classmates and deans. Dr. Fauci’s contributions to global health and clinical anecdotes are a continuing inspiration for my own path towards becoming a physician-scientist. Thanks, Dr. Fauci.

I had the opportunity to meet some brilliant students during the #AACR25 Undergraduate Poster Competition. I am proud to support the AACR's science education initiatives by sponsoring the prizes that recognize their outstanding research.

Today, NIH announced a new initiative to expand innovative, human-based science while reducing the use of animals in research. This aligns with U.S. FDA’s initiative to reduce testing in animals. bit.ly/4jYd4T2

A dream, & hard work, realized. When we started building microfluidic 3D in vitro models for preclinical studies in the 1990s, I advocated for this change as a member of the Advisory Committee to the Director, and coauthored the report that led to this new initiative. Huzzah!

Science has never brought me to tears until today. This poster was presented at #AACR25. The study used a cell line based on paired molecular profiling of biopsies derived from my dear friend Ivy Elkins cancer. Ivy's voice helped shape research, and now her cells are helping

To restore the gut microbiome after antibiotics, the right diet (rich in carbohydrates, low in fat) was a better approach than fecal microbial transplants (in the experimental model) nature.com/articles/s4158… nature.com/articles/d4158…

I get why they’re proposing this. But at the same time, med school tuition bloat is out of control. Average graduate debt is ~230k and rising. Residency pay remains relatively low. As the debt burden climbs, med students will follow the incentives (higher paying specialties).

Imagine being so bad at running the country that you waste time banning the 0.2% of troops who are trans instead of fixing the economy like you promised on day one. The eggs are still HIGH, Donnie. We are headed straight for a recession. If folks want to serve, LET THEM.

Let's be very clear about India's attack against Pakistan: India has ZERO evidence that Pakistan initiated any attacks in Kashmir. India chose to attack b/c the Trump admin (and a sizeable portion of the U.S. population) is Islamophobic and will automatically side against
