We launched today a clean-up campaign in Kismayo under the motto of "beautify your city" which aims to restore the city's beauty and educate the public to contribute to the development of the district. I thank the municipal staff and all the public involved in the campaign.

Today I inspected newly rehabilitated markets in #Kismayo meant to accommodate street vendors to trade. Appreciations to the district officials, the security agencies and the local communities for their cooperation.

This morning I visited Abdi Mohamed Ibrahim, who lost his wife and three of his children in a tragic fire incident in #Gobweyn near #Kismayo on Friday morning. I extended my condolences to him and his grieving relatives, wishing them fortitude and strength to bear with the loss.

Today I toured renovated markets in #Kismayo where street vendors have been accommodated in the past few days to decongest the main streets of the town. I thank the business community for complying with our orders to move businesses to the rehabilitated facilities.

Today I toured Alanley's Bulo-ba'ad section where houses of low-income families were buried by sand dunes due to the strong seasonal winds. I call upon the Jubaland State House government, the people and aid agencies to reach out to the affected families to ease their predicaments.
