As a Yoruba woman, it was a rude awakening to see slurs and stereotypes about Yoruba women spread openly right here on this app. I had to embrace conservatism, and I'm glad I did. THREAD

Shame on ALL of you Yoruba influencers who waited until it was popular to call out the denigration of Yoruba women to do the right thing!

Bunny (@samebunny0) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The reason most Yorubas kept quiet when Yoruba women were being stereotyped is because only a few voices spoke up, while the rest overlooked it or didn’t care. We were too busy clinging to the idea of ‘One Nigeria’ and forgot to protect our own as a people. No unity, just selfish

I think it's interesting that Asake's music has a lot of Fuji influence. Fuji music has always been unapologetically Yoruba and it's nice to see the tradition continuing in our generation.

Bizzleosikoya.eth Asake's music is heavily influenced by fuji music which has always been unapologetically Yoruba. I'm having a conversation about this tonight with a professor currently documenting the history of fuji music in Nigeria. 7pm tonight on my IG Live. 🩷

OSUN-OSOGBO FESTIVAL 2025: ORE YEYE OOO... Nothing in life feels as natural, safe, and fitting as being connected to your own heritage, culture, and traditions, the ones tied to your ancestry and race. No other group of people (whether religion, nationality, or ideology) will

Yorùbá is in trouble whether we acknowledge it or not. As long as we remain in Nigeria, Ibos and Fulanis will forever be an ever present danger for us. We may laugh at this but I assure you it's not funny. These folks want to supplant us totally. We NEED to leave Nigeria.

Bunmi (@olubunmi_j) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Many Yorùbá are still dozing. We need an independent Yorùbá country far away from Ibo ppl. From passing off Yoruba song as Ibo, claiming Ife as their ancestral land, to claiming Lagos is no man's land and claiming Yoruba food like Egusi, it is clear they intend to replace us.

Bunmi (@olubunmi_j) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Bunny It is left to us to understand that our continued existence depends on removing ourselves and our land from Nigeria ASAP. The farther we are from the Ibos the better for us. They intend to supplant us since they have no real history.

Bunmi (@olubunmi_j) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The screenshots in this post show how much we let things get spoilt cos of our liberalism and our tendency to fear the "bigot" label. Yes that time has passed but honestly this is the best time to pull together and make our way out of Nigeria. We are surrounded by INTENSE håte.

Bunmi (@olubunmi_j) 's Twitter Profile Photo

My sincere prayer is that they take that their hate out of social media into real life. I need Yorùbá ppl to truly understand the monsters they're dealing with. Ppl who mocked Northerners with their deåd ppl even went as far as composing songs of mockery while living in d North.

Bunmi (@olubunmi_j) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It's a coordinated effort to supplant Yorùbá on their land. Yorùbá women are the only ones who can raise Yorùbá kids. That's why Ibos are using a 2-prong attack. 1. Demonize Yorùbá women so that they håte themselves & Yorùbá men hâte them too. 2. Chase & marry Yorùbá men. IYKYK.

Bunmi 🐚 The Only Way To End This Madness Is To Exit Nigeria Cause In The Actual Sense, Nigeria Takes More From Yorubaland Than What Yorubaland Gets From Nigeria

Toy (@toyin982) 's Twitter Profile Photo

YorubaGngster Bunmi For starters, demand it with your voices. Teach your children that Nigeria is a scam and a prison. Have more loyalty to your true identity, yoruba. Talk about it, post about it. Support the leaders/people who want it to happen. Start there.

Toy (@toyin982) 's Twitter Profile Photo

YorubaGngster Bunmi All those things I mentioned are too big for you to do? You want to continue one nigeria so you people too can enter politics and take over from afenifere. That's a paycheck. Where is the development going to happen? Huh?
