Someone asked me if now is a good time to start a startup, with all the uncertainty in the world. The answer is yes, because the dominant factor in the outcome of a startup is whether the founders can discover a great product, not the political or economic environment.

This chart is actually old. Waymo is delivering an estimated 250,000 rides, projecting a $150M annual revenue run rate. Let's say $12 average a ride (it's probably more) $3M a week $150M a year Prediction - Google hits a $3 Trn Market cap by year end.

Good discussion with Tina Daheley about Prof Tim Leunig's proposals to scrap Stamp Duty and replace Council Tax. I do hope that these are not just August distractions and that HM Treasury takes a close look at what is being suggested.

This makes so much sense. It would be a fantastic option for the government to implement. I think they'll make more in taxes, stimulate the economy and everyone would feel better off. Win, Win, Win.

This really needs to happen. Stamp Duty is just crazy in the modern age. Summary attached of growing support for this reform

Exactly. We need to not punish moving, instead tax people for land. Just one of the many things wrong with the UK property market. Really excited that property is becoming a major talking point however, so many overdue changes.
