If you remove bike lanes, I'll be forced to take up an entire car lane. Biking in the gutter while cars go two abreast is dangerous. If I take up that lane, cars will have to merge to get by me. That's slower than our situation now where 1 lane moves well. I emailed Christine Hogarth

Oliver Macklem Christine Hogarth As someone from the burbs who has to drive in Toronto now and then, I love what they have done on Danforth. I’d much rather have bike lanes than have cars and bikes mixed together as it’s unsafe and slows everything down.

We ended today's podcast with some sad news about the passing of Scott Carefoot, an OG Toronto Raptors blogger and former colleague at theScore. He was just 49 years old. Our most sincere condolences to his family and friends.

A trillion dollar company should thank workers with money, not the cheapest candy they can find. Amazon workers need, and deserve, a union.

Last night, I attended a town hall regarding the encampment in Little Norway Park. People are furious. Empathy is failing. But we all have to admit that without affordable housing, people will continue to live outdoors. What is Doug Ford doing about it? Nothing meaningful.

it’s so cool and normal how this kind of thing is not considered antisemitism in mainstream discourse but like, hearing Arabic in public is.

This is the story of how a handful of Toronto businessmen got their way on bike lane policies across the province. Among other things, they falsely claim that bike lanes negatively impact emergency services. However, according to Toronto’s Deputy Fire Chief, response times have

I'm one of 11,500 casuals at Canada Post. We are 20% of CUPW. 40 hours a week. No benefits. No pension. No vacation. No leave. Haven't taken a week off in 18 months. Haven't been home for Christmas since 2019. Hours change weekly. This is the bullshit management wants to expand.

We stand in solidarity with these sports news workers and journalists who were laid off. In an industry with sustained viewership and increasing digital opportunities, the defunding of a podcasting network appears very shortsighted.

This reminds me of when Sportsnet highlight producers organized in 2019 -- weeks later the company magically handed out large raises to the non-union associate producers! #UnionPower #KeepOrganizing

Take our lanes, we'll take yours! Critical Mass is being organized for this Friday. Plan is to leave High Park at 6:30. Join us and put rubber to road in opposition to Bill 212 and efforts to take out our bike lanes. The fight starts now.

From the Auditor General’s report on Ontario Place: 12 days before the Ford government signed the lease, it was flagged that Therme barely had a million euros in the bank. They couldn’t even buy a condo in Toronto, let alone the waterfront!

Doug Ford is wasting $2.2 billion of your money to build a private spa nobody wants while destroying the Science Centre that everyone valued. The Minister of Infrastructure should resign and the Ford government needs to be replaced.

This video is for Doug Ford, Prabmeet Sarkaria and all others saying bike lanes "stop emerg. vehicles from getting to their destination". They *allow* emergency vehicles to get to their destination, as seen here on Adelaide. They were designed with emergency services in mind.
