OMG, this is terrible. With the government shutdown, National Park staff are reduced to keeping visitors safe and protecting the environment. Honestly, shouldn't this be the norm?

The best thing about this US Federal government shutdown is that the American people are learning that we can get along fine with just a small fraction of the government operating. We are much more impacted by state and local government services.
