We have two great candidates for party leader (so far) in Roderic O’Gorman TD and Pippa Hackett. Personally I believe a woman from a farming background in rural Ireland is the way we need to go to challenge the false narrative that has been put out about the Greens.

I don’t have children, but if I did, I would be way more concerned if my daughter lived near Cathal Crotty than if she lived near an international protection centre. I’ve had one nearby for years. The people there are - what’s the word? Oh, yeah - exemplary. 😉

Gardaí need to come down hard on these thugs. There is no place in our democracy for intimidation and threats of violence against any political leader, regardless of what party they represent.

Relations across our islands have been quite strained in recent years, not helped by the chaotic incompetence of their former Government since the Brexit vote. I hope the change of Government in the UK will allow space for a more grounded cordial relationship to re-emerge.
