RNZ has picked up on our latest Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project story on Chinese influence in Solomons media

Saddened to see that Sasako has missed the point here. The problem isn't that the Star's management got money from China. The problem is that they were willing to sell their editorial integrity in order to get it.

The thrust of our story was not simply that the Star received Chinese funding. That was already known & not the main issue. The issue is that they repeatedly promised positive coverage of Chinese efforts in return for money. That should be a red line for journalists.

The Guardian picks up on Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project's reporting on the Solomon Star's China deal.
