“If the ravens leave the Tower, the kingdom will fall”. Despite superstition, the earliest reference to Tower ravens dates to 1885. Today, 7 ravens are kept in the Tower with clipped wings so that they don't fly away, although, one made it as far as a pub in the East End in 1981!

It can be said that musically, the Chapel Royal achieved its greatest eminence under the reign of Elizabeth I. During this time, many composers, including Thomas Tallis and William Byrd were members... Their legacy continues, with their music still featured today... #spitsfest18
