Unintentionally, there's basically a whole Urbit track at LambdaConf 2025 this year (4 - 5 talks). FYI Urbit is 'own your data and apps'. In the family of local-first / decentralized compute & storage. Albeit with a Unison | @unison-lang.org on bsky-style 'boil-the-ocean' strategy to get there.

Urbit's history is: people trying to do a safe (but unurbity) thing, it failing and taking more time and money than it would have taken to just do the urbity thing, followed by doing the urbity thing and it working the first time.

One of my team's main objectives for Urbit is to make command line level tools accessible to non-programmer power users. Yun is making this real in Shrubbery with Tree, a UI that gives you a CRUD-style interface to all data on your ship.

Ameen Soleimani OpenZeppelin Tally if you don't find one, we can help you crowdfund it's development and p2p release over Urbit. wispem-wantex has built this for the Uniswap Labs 🦄 front end and could probably work with kitscho.eth to make it happen. x.com/sicdev_pilnup/…

people are riled up about Zorp's 'fair launch' of Nockchain . some of this is probably their fault for not more proactively defining 'fair'. personally, i take the slant that "life isn't fair", therefore when someone says 'fair', i do some work to see what they actually mean
