This was one of the more important conferences I've attended in a while. Nice work Arvind Narayanan and Sayash Kapoor: wired.com/story/machine-…

📢 I'm excited to be advertising a PhD scholarship to support a brilliant student to work alongside me on my ARC #DECRA project on digital authoritarianism. We have limited funding to support a few non-Sydney based PhDs’ local accommodation during the two-day conference. We will allocate the funds as fairly as possible by both the presenters’ needs and the time of abstract submission. How to apply - here: aacapstudies.com/2022/09/04/aac…

Our star HDRs had an amazing time at #UQ Moreton Bay Research Station on #Minjerribah. We enjoyed the Nature's Wonderland of North Stradbroke Island while still trying to remain productive. Immense thanks to our Griffith HDR GGRS and Griffith Asia Inst for funding this trip, it was a blast!

PUBLISHED! I’m thrilled to see “On the Move: Autocratic Leaders, Security, and Capital Relocations” published in @Pol_Geog_Jl 🤓 Co-authored with Carl Henrik Knutsen and Tore Wig, it was one of the funnest projects I have ever worked on. Delighted to have a new article out in the Journal of Contemporary Asia. It examines the role of pro-government unions in labour cooptation in Cambodia, contributing to knowledge of how party organisations help maintain autocratic stability on the ground. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
