I guess the message sent to those of us Happy Pride Ottawa today was the only legitimate and acceptable demonstration of pride/solidarity/support is for Palestine right now and anything else must be shut down. A shame, and I fail to see how it helps anyone.

No. ILFM (Illness in the Family) Leave has NOT “changed” @ocdsb and if you are an @ocetfo member being told it has and are denied- contact our office. The collective agreement doesn’t get changed unilaterally outside of bargaining and we will fight to defend it.

With boards like ⁦OCDSB⁩ in takeover and under the control of a supervisor, parent access to public education and democratic accountability is under attack. @ocetfo and all members of the public are encouraged to come out on 24 Sept 630 to this event.

I believe Elementary Educators should be models of civility, acceptance, respect and hope for everyone in our classrooms and in our Union spaces. Everyone we come across should know we want what’s best for them. No student, no Union member is worth more or less than any other.

Very sorry at the passing of Elementary Educators and @ocetfo Honourary Life Member DON BROWN. Don was a pioneering teacher in the old OBE, and a proud Unionist. It was a privilege to visit with Don at Annual Meetings and hear many great teaching and hockey stories over the years.

It’s a special kind of grotesque that Paul Calandra is saying “infighting among Trustees is keeping EQAO scores low”. Whether Trustees get along or not is insignificant next to him reducing real dollar spending on education and the system is cracking. THIS is why kids struggle.

@ocetfo leaders are at #ETFO Rep Council today talking about conditions in #onted. We know $6.35bil in real funding cuts since 2018 is devastating to our children’s schools. We need to make a #BigDifference in schools. Our message is:
