Dear Oakland: We'll miss In-N-Out Burger too. But we're out here! We're a small business owned by a husband & wife, who's a 4th generation Oaklander. We make all our own baked goods in-house. We experience the crime too & are trying to make it work. Stop by - 555 12th street!

We understand the fears but to the extent that people feel comfortable we'd ask they don't write off going outside for lunch in Oakland. We and plenty of other food businesses are open everyday and trying to make it work.

I’d like to start a thread for every time I try out a locally owned Oakland restaurant for the first time! Local businesses don’t deserve to lose customers:) I tried Oaklandia a few weeks ago , loved the coffee & danish & came back for a veggie focaccia sandwich that was amazing!

Yep people need to stop crying about corporations and to support local.
