Thanks to PS 249 - The Caton School for having me at their Career Day… I really enjoyed talking to the students about NYC Water, the sewers, and wastewater treatment plants. Hopefully we inspired a few future DEP employees in Brooklyn today!! 😉🌊

Queens Borough Commissioner Alfonzo Lopez recently ran into Forest Hills Girl Scout Troop 4631 and met these Brownies, whose "Take Action Project" promotes water conservation and the healthy benefits of drinking water. Brownies? Sounds more like Smart Cookies to us!

Raymond Feige was a respected engineer and a steady, beloved colleague who spent his entire 33-year DEP career in the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment’s Marine Section — it was his home away from home. He will be deeply missed. RIP, Ray.

Before arriving at NYC faucets, Neversink Reservoir water travels 6 miles to Rondout Reservoir, then heads south to the City via the 85-mile Delaware Aqueduct. Water passing over the spillway, shown during construction and as it appears now, returns to the Neversink River. #tbt

During heavy rain, our Spring Creek facility helps prevent sewer overflows by holding excess water. Senior Sewage Treatment Worker Kevin Lewis says it’s key to keeping our waterways clean during extreme weather. #NYToughest 💪
