1yr ago New York City Council enacted a law banning solitary confinement in NYC jails. The Mayor has refused to implement it. Yesterday, NYC Council filed a lawsuit to enforce implementation. We could not be prouder to join our sister defenders in an amicus in support of this legal action.


Queens Defenders joined NYC's PD offices in filing an amicus brief in support of the lawsuit to invalidate the Mayor's emergency executive orders that suspended parts of Local Law 42, which bans solitary confinement in city jails. Read it here: loom.ly/qyzLhZA
