The Hungry Caterpillars have loved learning about why people wear poppies for Remembrance Day.

The Hungry Caterpillars celebrated Anti- bullying Week by wearing odd socks! The children learnt that it is okay to be different by listening to a brilliant book by Todd Parr. They designed their own pair of odd socks using different creative resources. 😁👍❤️

The Nursery children were silent for 2 minutes at 11 o’clock on 11th November. They thought about soldiers who have been hurt or killed fighting in wars. ❤️🤫

The Hungry Caterpillars and Shining Stars listened to a talk by one of our Tankersley school family members about her father’s very special war medals and photographs. We would like to thank her for developing and enhancing our learning about Remembrance Day.

Super learning about the past! ❤️ One of our grandparents and her granddaughter came to visit the Hungry Caterpillars and Shining Stars. They told the children all about their very brave relative who had served alongside others in war. The children learnt so much! 🌟🐛❤️

The Hungry Caterpillars enjoyed playing with their friends in our snowy play area. The children made footprints in the snow, threw snowballs at the wall and made snowmen. It was fantastic fun!❄️☃️⛄️😀

The Hungry Caterpillars enjoyed following instructions to make a sandwich for our indoor Teddy bears’ picnic. The children listened to the traditional Teddy Bears’ picnic song while they munched their picnic food with their friends.😋

The Hungry Caterpillars have enjoyed sharing their ‘Chatterboxes’ with their friends. The children have chosen 5 special things from home to put in a decorated box to show and talk about in order to develop their speaking and listening skills. 🗣️👂👏

The Hungry Caterpillars have loved exploring their new building site role play area. The children have been designing Elsa’s castle, hotels, massive houses and lots more imaginative ideas. They have worked collaboratively and it has been a very busy area in Nursery!

The Hungry Caterpillars have loved learning about Valentine’s Day. The children have talked about people they love and made a lovely card to give to them.❤️😀

The Hungry Caterpillars would like to say a massive thank you to the Shining Stars for inviting us to celebrate Chinese New Year with them. The Reception children shared their learning with their Nursery friends. Everyone enjoyed Chinese food and a spectacular dragon dance!🐉🐲
