Hey, I have a student who suffers HIGH anxiety (not math-focused, just general). For those that fall into that category, what did you wish your middle school teacher would have done? I want to help make her feel comfortable

Math people! Years ago, I found a website which focused on students drawing graphs (distance/time kinda stuff) based on videos. One video is this guy climbing up a slide and sliding down it. It played the video like three times. Does this ring any bells?? #mtbos #iteachmath

We're 50/50 and I have a quiz at the end of the week. I assigned Ss a 10 question study guide to do at home. They come in and review what they got wrong. Other than give them more work, what can I do with the kids who got a perfect score on the SG? #mtbos #iteachmath

Had a student yesterday ask me to be "a recomendation" for her because when I taught her she was able to jump-up a grade. That felt pretty good on a couple of levels.

As a teacher in Desmos , I can set pacing for the kids on certain slides (AWESOME), but I can't find a way to pace pieces of a lesson in advance: can I pace slide 2-4, AND pace them on 6-8 before they even start? Or am I not thinking about this right? #mtbos #iteachmath

Got an email from our union, and it was filled with lots of information on how teachers could do better in the classroom, how to advocate in different ways for our Ss, and examples of Ts going above and beyond... And I'm thinking, do you know how exhausted I feel just KEEPING UP?

So, do schools KNOW that when they send emails to parents saying "pick up your kids on the north side of school", or "go to door J", that no parent has any idea where that is?

Our son loves my wife's step counter. We told him that every 1000 steps equals five minutes of youtube. Below is today's accomishment. The top number is the steps. He wanted to get 1000 more to double his mom's top score.

just received word that my district is adopting canvas (our lms) "new quiz" feature, which will destroy all the testbanks I've made. The next quizes will only accept question banks in the QTI format. Are there good programs to generate QTI compatable content? #edtech
