We can not emphasize enough - the #cold air and wind chill forecast tomorrow (Wed) night thru Thursday feature some of the most extreme values you will ever see! Please take precautions: Check on elderly/vulnerable, protect pets, shelter livestock, cover exposed skin! #WYwx #NEwx

Snow plow drivers and tow operators are basically our heroes. So grateful for the work that those guys do in the worst conditions. Nebraska DOT #towtruck #towoperator

Do NOT underestimate the power of a Nebraska blizzard. The road conditions may not look bad close to town, but wide open rural areas are a totally different story. Conditions deteriorate rapidly.

I cannot STRESS enough how much people in the Northern Panhandle need to STAY HOME. If you become stranded, the conditions are so bad that we may not be able to get to you. Frost bite and hypothermia come quick in these temperatures. Diesel motors are gelling up. STAY HOME.

Tonight on the ice planet Hoth, snow patrol resistance fighters are working diligently to rescue stranded motorists. Please reduce our burden by making wise decisions when it comes to travel. #StarWars #Hoth #snowpatrol Nebraska DOT

Seatbelts save lives - the driver of this vehicle was buckled up when he lost control and rolled due to icy road conditions - and he walked away because of it. #BuckleUp #ArriveAlive

Winter time in ranch country Nebraska … a cattleman South of Morrill, NE, drops bales of hay to his herd. #ranch #rancher #snow #cows

TRP Ochoa didn’t pull this sword from a stone, but from a vehicle while serving a search warrant. The owner was a convicted felon, and a sword qualifies as a deadly weapon.

I have the BEST chats with people on traffic stops on a regular basis. We truly live the good life here in small town, rural Nebraska. I wouldn’t want to be a Trooper anywhere else.

More hazardous weather in the Panhandle of NE tonight. TRP Kleich #468 captured these pictures of a funnel cloud forming east of Gering.

There is significant damage to structures from this storm system east of Scottsbluff/Gering. These storms are not to be taken lightly as they continue their movement east across NE. Follow NWS Cheyenne and follow safety directives.

Troopers Garfio (#NSP483) and Sporer (#NSP290) are out with Trp Flick (#NSP382) at WNCC Cougars helping with the “Oct-Sober-Fest”. No better way to kick it off than to #LeadByExample

TRP Garfio #483 clocked this car going 151MPH in Dawes County - A crash at that speed would likely result in death or serious bodily injury. Kudos to Garfio for getting this car stopped. It’s not just about the occupants of that vehicle - it’s about everyone else on the road too.

A little girl - maybe age 7 - said hi to me at the gas station. ‘My dog went to doggie jail. We have to pay to get him out.’ 🤣
