Play is essential! I love the idea of a 90 day ‘golden age of play’, although I would make it everyday! Students learn nonacademic skills which foster productive citizens and life-long learners, in addition to increased behavior and energy for learning in the classroom.

I stress the importance of growth over percentages. I know it’s effective because last week a student was so excited about his 56% (since he typically gets 20%s or lower). He even requested to put his quiz on our classroom fridge for all to see since he was so proud of himself.💓
