You’ll see fireworks on sale in the run up to Bonfire Night. It’s important to know which ones are safe to buy. We'd always encourage you to attend an organised fireworks display, but if you do decide to have your own, only buy from a licenced retailer & follow the Firework Code.

Today an informal gathering was held at North Road to pay respects to the fallen of all conflicts. Chris Veitch of the Remembrance Group gave a reading and a 2 mins silence was held. The Last Post was sounded by bugler Kate McDougal. A beacon of Peace was lit & wreathes laid.

Recently Parish Cllrs Gregory & Hawkes with local PCSO Goodwill were in the vicinity of Park View School Lombard Drive, checking the area for stationary vehicles at the end of the school day. A polite reminder to avoid parking on double yellow lines as safety for pupils is vital.

Only the 3 volunteers today for the litter pick but the dynamic trio got the job done. A Herculean effort to remove a trolley and wheelchair from the culvert at the rear of the Drum Industrial Estate 💪🏻. More litter picks in 2026!!
