I had my quickest visit a couple days ago. #PeleeIsland

Day 33: It is a very foggy morning and all I hear are gulls laughing - signalling my limited time here. #PeleeIsland

I discovered if I lay down, I can see further in this Scotland fog. #PeleeIsland

That wind yesterday really moved some ice around. Here is a photo of Lake Henry and yes that is all open water on the East side now. #PeleeIsland

All the TVs I can see are watching the same thing. #PeleeIsland

Day 37: (9th longest visit) A strong cold NW wind has closed up the open water near the North Bay - Ice is 38cm (15”). #PeleeIsland

Some people like marble cheese, marble cake or marble countertops. I prefer marble ice. #PeleeIsland

“It’s open water from Lighthouse Point to Clubhouse Point!!!” That doesn’t scare me……Strong NE winds worry me - and none of those are forecasted. #PeleeIsland

A perfect weekend to go and check out all the great ice formations around Hulda’s Rock. #PeleeIsland

Visitor’s Ice Report: “North Bay is 33cm (13”) thick and although the ice is much flatter, no where is it smooth enough for skating.” #PeleeIsland

Way too cloudy this morning to catch the Blood Moon lunar eclipse. Such a bummer!! Hopefully the weather cooperates for the next one on June 26, 2029. #PeleeIsland

Yet another foggy day on the Island - which means I don’t have to see that 3/4 of the North Bay ice has floated away. #PeleeIsland

Day 47: 6th longest visit Ice Report: 28cm (11”) thick Open water: 120m (400ft) away Fog: Dense #PeleeIsland

The fog cleared a little to reveal the inevitable. The remaining section of the North Bay ice (my home) has broken free from the shore…..and a 15 knot south wind is forecasted tonight. #PeleeIsland

As I was doing the last of my packing this afternoon, the Pelee students came and to say their “Goodbyes”. #PeleeIsland

Here was my final selfie before leaving with the ice (and lightening) in the wee hours. Thank you Islanders, for a wonderful 49 days. I wish you all a successful 2026 season and may there be even more ice next winter! #❤️PeleeIsland
