God... Don't tear down, build into! Halo, Homeworld, Star Wars... Why is there a rush to deny or retcon things that aren't cool instead of building them into something that IS cool? Many things have an awkward teething period before becoming great. Give things a chance!

#Homeworld. The pilot voices and feedback have been blasted in these games for being monotone, but it's not from bad acting. It's this. They're professionals. They have to be in order to win an interstellar war.

Star Wars has a way of homogenizing culture by race — the first Trandoshan we see is a bounty hunter so Trandoshans are congenital hunters; the first Wookiee we see is inseparable from his human friend, so Wookiees have “life debts;” Hutts are gangsters, Neimoidians born greedy.

I like what I imagine about a Rebels sequel better than what I hear about Ashoka. I find my distance from Star Wars now is a lack of enthusiasm for anything (cept Andor) that's come out since 9.

The mystery of how long these were just laying out here with no visitors. Or the intentions of the builders as they made these things... I love this line of thinking. Its also why I love the Progenitors of #Homeworld

A few words about those AI video shorts that take my image and voice without my permission and then monetize it and upload it to Spotify and other streaming sites where you get paid; that’s misappropriation and an invasion of privacy at the very least. Please do not send these

I got War3 as a gift for Christmas one year and got interested, but then my interest plunged once Warcraft turned into WoW. Most of my opposition was over the nature of MMOs. Turned the world into a theme park. No event was truly unique since anyone could do it when they wanted

Anything before it's touched by the lens of pop culture magnification is a treasure to find. How about pre-prequel artwork and concepts before those movies came out? Star Trek before next gen, or Enterprise? Lost worlds.

What makes Spartan-IIs and IIIs cool is how depersonalized they are, how wired they are to be the perfect jackbooted attack dogs for the UNSC, and how often they prove that they're still human with acts of humanity, even if they don't see themselves as people. S-IVs could never.

Why are proponents of AI so upset about labeling a game "made with AI" on a storefront? Isn't AI the future? Inevitable? Only stupid luddites are avoiding it? Shouldn't you be proud to promote that your game was created with it? It's almost like it's wildly unpopular 🥰

I think another reason I'm walking away from Star Wars is that the discourse is exhausting I liked the sequel trilogy. I liked TLJ. You can't discuss them without crashing into a wall of fan outrage. It's just easier to move on.

Right, we used to have a crewed sts orbiter capable of complex utility functions in LEO. Why don't we have that anymore?

The thing I appreciate the most about the Al takeover is that it's making social media so bad people are starting to return to the old ways: physical books, in person meet-ups, more writing, contemplation, and presence. The internet has become so synthetic and unreal it's helping

Mine might have been either Risk or TSR's The Hunt for Red October when I was around 10. My parents got it because I was really into submarines but didn't understand how to play until much later. I remember "playing" against my mom, who didn't try to teach me.
